This errata clarifies the terms “spell-like ability” and “innate ability” when describing magical abilities characters can possess.

    SPELL-LIKE ABILITY
A spell-like ability mimics spell-casting as per the rules found under “Casting Magic” on page 85 of the SOLAR Mississippi core rule book, version 3.0, with some differences.

    1. Their verbals can be approximated.
    2. They may not be cast when incapacitated or affected by another effect which states spell casting is impossible (e.g. cannot speak or life drained).
    3. They can be cast while taking body damage.

    INNATE MAGICAL ABILITIES
Innate magical abilities mimic spell-casting as per the rules found under “Casting Magic” on page 85 of the SOLAR Mississippi core rule book, version 3.0, with some differences.

    1. The verbal is the spell name and the word “Innate,” e.g. “Renew, Innate!”
    2. Innates may be cast any time the caster is conscious and capable of independent thought (i.e. not asleep and not mentally dominated by mind-controlling effects).
    3. Innates may be cast while taking body damage.
